State Department Information on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
“The UMass Lowell Exchange Program is product of the relationship between elements of the Azorean diaspora in Boston and the scientific and technological system of the Autonomous Region of the Azores. This mobility program was only possible due to the contribution of the Saab Family Foundation, which took over the program's funding, and due to the willingness of UMass Lowell to host it. Boston is known for its vast Azorean community, which has never failed to recognize the talent and value that can be found in this archipelago. More than just an outermost region, we represent a strategic point that separates the American continent from the European. It is our transcontinental nature that reinforces the need to provide young Azorean students with opportunities to demonstrate and enhance their expertise in various areas of knowledge, through participating in research projects in the departments and laboratories of the Kennedy College of Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.”
Applicants must be enrolled at the University of Azores or be Azorean students pursuing their education elsewhere.
An updated copy of your resume, a motivation letter, and a support letter from a Portuguese professor.
Thanks to SAAB Family Foundation, accommodation travel expenses, and one-credit course are all covered.
